Privacy Policy

This policy explains how BetterOnline handles personal data when you visit our website, speak with Better Advisor, contact us through WhatsApp, request a proposal or become a client.

1. Who we are

BetterOnline is a digital services brand operated in Portugal by Aderry Lda. For privacy matters, you can contact us at me@brunoerry.com.

2. Personal data we collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect information such as your name, business name, email address, telephone or WhatsApp number, website URL, project requirements, budget or timing preferences, messages, files and other information you choose to provide.

We may also process limited technical information generated when you use our website, such as device and browser information, pages or actions viewed, timestamps, referral information and security or diagnostic data.

3. Why we use your data

We use personal data to:

  • respond to enquiries and provide requested information;
  • prepare website recommendations, briefs, proposals and quotes;
  • continue conversations across our website, email and WhatsApp;
  • provide, administer and support our services;
  • manage contracts, payments and project delivery;
  • protect our systems, prevent abuse and troubleshoot problems;
  • measure and improve our website, sales process and customer experience;
  • comply with legal, tax, accounting and regulatory obligations.

4. Legal bases

Where the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies, we process personal data when it is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract, to perform a contract, to comply with a legal obligation, on the basis of our legitimate interests where those interests do not override your rights, or on the basis of your consent where consent is required.

5. Better Advisor, CRM and automated assistance

Information you provide through Better Advisor may be structured into a project brief and stored in our customer relationship and sales systems so that we can continue the conversation without asking you to repeat information you have already provided.

We may use automated systems to help organise information, prepare responses, identify relevant next steps and support our sales workflow. Important contractual, payment and project decisions remain subject to the rules and controls of our business systems and, where appropriate, human review.

6. WhatsApp and Meta

If you choose to contact BetterOnline through WhatsApp, your communications are processed using WhatsApp services provided by Meta. We may receive your WhatsApp identifier or telephone number, message content, attachments and delivery-related events required to operate the conversation.

Your use of WhatsApp is also subject to Meta and WhatsApp's own terms and privacy practices. We do not sell WhatsApp conversation data to advertisers.

7. Service providers and recipients

We may use trusted service providers for hosting, infrastructure, customer relationship management, communications, analytics, payments, security and project delivery. These providers process data only as needed to provide their services to us and are subject to applicable contractual and legal safeguards.

Current or potential providers may include infrastructure and communication platforms such as Meta/WhatsApp, Supabase, Stripe and hosting or software providers used to operate BetterOnline and its internal systems.

8. International transfers

Some service providers may process data outside Portugal or the European Economic Area. Where required, we rely on legally recognised safeguards for international transfers, such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses.

9. Data retention

We retain personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, to maintain relevant business records, resolve disputes, protect our systems and comply with legal, accounting or tax obligations. Retention periods can vary depending on the type of data and our relationship with you.

10. Cookies and similar technologies

Our website may use technologies that are necessary for core functionality, security, session continuity and measurement. Where applicable law requires consent for non-essential cookies or similar technologies, we will request that consent before using them.

11. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, erase or restrict your personal data, object to certain processing, request data portability and withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. You may also lodge a complaint with the Portuguese data protection authority, Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD), or another competent supervisory authority.

To exercise a privacy right, contact me@brunoerry.com. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.

12. Security

We use technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration or disclosure. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so we review and improve these safeguards as our systems evolve.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our services, providers or legal obligations change. The latest version will always be available on this page and will show its most recent update date.
